Left: Pentel Pocket Brush Pen sketch on that blue paper in the journal from England. Approx. 11.75 inches tall. Cropped a bit from the square original because of scanner size. Click on the image to view an enlargement.
Sometimes I finish a pen sketch and I just can't bring myself to cover it up with paint. I'm weak. Maybe too sentimental. Definitely foolish. It isn't always the great sketches I want to save, that's the only thing I can say in my defense.
When you don't want to paint over a sketch you probably should, just because it will be good for you.
But, that said, I think you could just as simply do another sketch, and another, and another, in rapid fire, until you arrive at one you will paint over.
It's a great way to up your sketching production. Always a good thing. Now that's something we all should do.
If you were following along with Project Friday and using your PPBP don't put it away. You work isn't finished here.
(Sketch from a dog park photo of a very old Boston Terrier, up on my computer screen, while I sat back without my glasses.)
