Despite the record high temperatures and humidity in the Twin Cities lately summer is winding down—the Minnesota State Fair is coming soon, and then Labor Day, and well, then lovely, lovely fall, followed by glorious winter.
But I digress. What I wanted to be sure to remind you all of today is that you must order you PVA (polyvinyl acetate—bookbinding glue) NOW. It has to be shipped while temperatures stay above freezing. (PVA cannot be frozen and mail order companies won't send it when it might freeze in transit.)
Take a moment today to look at your bookbinding plans for the fall and winter and then estimate how much PVA you will need (because of course you've been keeping records right?) and then order some up. Better to order too much than to run out and not be able to buy any.
Don't wait, do it now. Otherwise you'll forget and there will be much gnashing of teeth later when the weather snaps!
Places to order PVA: Light Impressions, Talas on line, and the usual suspects.
This Public Service Announcement has been brought to you by book artist Roz Stendahl, who holds no stock in any company producing or selling PVA, but just doesn't want to hear about it when you run out and can't bind that dream book you've imagined.
