Above: a gouache study of a sheep on the verso page of the current journal. The journal is made with Magnani Annigoni Designo and is about 7.5 x 10.25. If you would like to see more work on this paper in a different journal click on the "Weirdo Journal" page in my page list in the right-hand column. Recto page is a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen Sketch on graph paper, glued into the book. Click on the image to view an enlargement.
A couple of weeks ago I was asked to speak to a women's group about gouache. I am always up for sparking interest in this medium. Before and after I give such talks I find myself working a lot with gouache in my journal to remind myself all the things I love about the medium.
This time I was also reminded that it has been awhile since I've done anything with Project 640 Tubes.
If you are not familiar with Project 640 Tubes I ask that you go to the link now and read about it.
Next, if you are a painter who uses gouache, then you will surely know the importance of PB60 and will have every reason to join in and write to M. Graham and let Art Graham know that he really should add PB60 to his gouache line—colormaker@mgraham.com
Tell Art "Roz says hi."
By the way, the talk went great. Twenty seven women listened attentively while I ranted about gouache, body color, the history of watercolor painting, and brands of paint. They graciously let me go past my allotted time. I simply have too much to say about gouache. Only one woman fell asleep! And three women came up afterwards to tell me they were eager to try it out. By incremental numbers a movement grows.
Write Art Graham!
